Samar Shaikh B.D.S M.S

Periodontist

Dr. Samar Shaikh is a distinguished diplomate of the American Board of Periodontology and Implant Dentistry. She earned her certificate in Periodontology and conscious sedation along with a Master’s in Science degree from Tufts University School of Dental Medicine in 2019. In addition to private practice, Dr. Shaikh is an assistant professor in the department of Periodontology at Tufts University School of Dental Medicine in Boston, MA. 

Her dedication to education was honored with the 2021 American Academy of Periodontology Foundation educator award for excellence in teaching and mentoring in periodontics. Dr. Shaikh’s expertise extends beyond clinics, as she is also a valued author for the esteemed “Clinical Cases in Periodontics” and the digital rendition of “Carranza’s Clinical Periodontology”. She also lectures nationally on topics related to hard tissue augmentation and muco-gingival defects. 

Dr. Shaikh's dedication to advancing dental knowledge and elevating patient care is evident in her multifaceted contributions to academia, clinical care, and lectures. Outside of her professional pursuits, she enjoys spending quality time with her furry companions, Pepper the cat and Coco the dog.

John Paul R. Guzman D.M.D M.S

Periodontist

As a periodontist, Dr. John Paul De Guzman is committed to saving teeth when possible, using advanced non-surgical and surgical techniques. Dr. De Guzman’s specialized training has an enhanced focus on implant dentistry and gum and bone reconstruction, allowing him to provide tooth replacement solutions when necessary. He is dedicated to helping patients restore their oral health and regain their natural smiles. Dr. De Guzman prioritizes building strong relationships with his patients, fostering an environment of trust, respect, and open communication.

Dr. De Guzman began his dental education at the National University College of Dentistry where he graduated as valedictorian of his class and received his doctoral degree. Driven by his desire to expand his knowledge and skills, Dr. De Guzman specialized in periodontology at Tufts University School of Dental Medicine in Boston. He graduated with a Master’s degree in Dental Science with a focus in ridge augmentation and implantology. At Tufts University, Dr. De Guzman was appointed as the Chief Resident due to his clinical skills and leadership abilities.

Dr. De Guzman and his wife, Charla, recently welcomed a beautiful daughter, Florence. His family is also accompanied by their loyal companion, Bijou, their beloved dog who brings an extra dose of love and cheer to their lives. Dr. De Guzman strives to provide his patients with the highest level of personalized attention, making them feel like an extended part of his own cherished family.
